Its not like you don’t already know this, but I am just going to have to tell you anyway:
If you go outside it will make you happier.
There is an empowering high that comes with being in the outdoors, whether it be hiking, camping, skiing, etc.
Simply being out in nature helps us to continue our lives with a positive outlook.
Sunday afternoon, I decided that I wanted to go hiking and in a matter of minutes I was out the door, in search of beauty.
It also happened to be by far the most beautiful day of the year, which also meant all the outdoorsy Coloradans were out and about enjoying nature.
Now something you should know about the people in this state, especially the city of Colorado Springs, they are not shy in any way.
I discovered during my hike, that they are also unafraid to share their opinion.
At one point Nick and I were discussing whether it was more beneficial to be a realist or a dreamer.
As we rounded the corner there was this man standing there observing the view of the mountain, and he said,
“Being a realist is overrated, you have to shoot for the stars if you truly want to live.”
So not only is hiking good for the soul, but you also receive spiritual guidance from fellow hikers.
Was it a sign from the universe, or simply a coincidence? You tell me.
Regardless, spending time in nature is crucial if you want to live in peace and clarity. Even if all you have is fifteen minutes to spare, then go outside so you can receive a clearer view of the world.

Here are some reasons as to why you should make it a priority:
Sure you could say exercise boost your mood no matter where it is you do it.
But sweat sessions in the outdoors is the best kind of way to get your exercise.
Studies have shown that outdoor exercise decreases the risk of mental illness, and creates a more joyous psyche.
So give it a try; try swapping out running in the same place, for a run in the sun. Trust me, you will notice a difference.
2. You will be friendlier
A recent study conducted by the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology offered some insight as to how nature effects our relationships.
It was stated that the time we spend in nature tends to make us more caring, and empathetic towards those in our life. So go out and experience nature, you will find it easier to express yourself.
3. You need the sun
Sunlight is by far our bodies preferred way of receiving Vitamin D, so why would you deprive your body of what it wants.
This may be new information to some of you, but a chronic lack of sunlight will lead to depression, fatigue, and to a feeling of hopelessness. The form of depression is otherwise known as seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
So it turns out, we need sunlight, more then it needs us.

4. Its undeniable you will receive an energy boost
Do you want to find a way to feel more alive? Do you want to get more things done?
Some scientist believe that nature provides us with a greater “sense of vitality”, this includes a heightened sense of our emotions. So skip the coffee the next time you are feeling sluggish, and just go on a walk!
5. You will appreciate the little things in life
Now I may not be able to back this up with any sort of scientific facts, but I can attest to this idea through my own experience.
Spending time outdoors awakens a part of yourself, you had forgotten about completely.
The view from a mountain top, a walk through the woods, a quick dip in the ocean...
it gives you a greater perspective on things, and you will be able to take the memories you had when you find yourself in a stressful situation to receive a smile on your face.
