This is an idea that many of us have slowly grown to ignore.

Its no secret that life can be incredibly overwhelming. But despite all the things going on at once we all crave some sense of balance. There is this endless wish inside us all to miraculously balance family, friends, work, and play; of finally achieving this talent to which in itself can be overwhelming. But by getting so caught up in the achievement of balancing the things in our lives we forget to accomplish the one most important thing there is: taking care of our own selves first

You must strive to find a way to include taking care of yourself in your daily routine. Make the health of your mind, body, and soul a priority.
While it may sound selfish in some way to you, putting yourself first in every way is the most selfless thing to do. This is because when you focus the little energy you have into making yourself the healthiest and happiest version of yourself then you will begin to radiate a beautifully endless energy, and with that energy you can reach greater heights in centering the environment around you. Suddenly everything you intend on accomplishing, everywhere you go, and every person you encounter will get a taste of those positive vibes you are radiating.
You know that free yoga class you've been dying to attend? Take it! Do you remember that beautiful dress you thought about buying? Buy it! That constant emotional pain you've been having but just simply haven't had the time to address it? Figure out why your having these feelings and heal it. Begin to eat the natural foods of this earth. Create your own meditation space. Laugh. Create something. Remind yourself to love and honor your own soul. Respect your body. Respect your mind. Respect your soul. Nurture your thoughts. Be proud of who you are. Celebrate. Walk as if your feet are kissing the ground each time you take a step. Breathe. We must all find a way to love ourselves first, care for ourselves first, and in time we may find that keeping all those other things in balance is a much simpler task to accomplish.

Personally I am finding that taking care of myself means making time to read that book I've been dying to read while sipping my mint tea, waking up a bit earlier to do some morning yoga while whispering a prayer, and expressing my deepest emotions through the art of painting.
